How Can YOU Make an Impact? A Day for Psychology is an opportunity for psychologists and those interested in mental health to lend their support by making a donation to IPF OR IPA. This annual giving campaign presents a great opportunity for psychologists and mental health advocates across Iowa to come together to advance the profession of psychology throughout our State.

The IPA Office is in constant need of upholding its mission through public education and outreach, continuing education and advocacy. This year IPA will use donated funds to offset the cost of hiring a Director of Professional Affairs (DPA). The DPA will help fill an important gap in IPA’s advocacy efforts by focusing on the private sector and advocating for issues important to psychologists. More specifically, the DPA will allow IPA to be more “proactive” versus “reactive” when addressing issues related to the professional practice of psychology including regularly monitoring national and statewide trends in healthcare, Medicare and related services, insurance billing and requirements, alternative practice models, legislative activity in other states, and overall trends in the profession that might influence the work of Iowa psychologists.
