Purdue University Global - Des Moines, Room D
4655 121st St, Urbandale, IA 50323

This salon will inform psychologists of the importance and professional scope of civic engagement. IPA psychologists will tell of their experiences in this area, provide tips, and detail what drew them to advocate for psychology in order to benefit society and improve people’s lives. Attendees will learn more about IPA’s advocacy agenda, progress made, and challenges ahead. Skills and resources beneficial to psychologists interested in civic engagement will round out the salon and there will be opportunities to ask questions of the speakers - IPA lobbyist and IPA State Advocacy Chair. This salon training will provide a good primer (or refresher) for anyone new to meeting with legislators or public officials and all attendees are encouraged to join IPA the following morning (Feb 20) for the IPA Legislative Breakfast at the Iowa Capitol.
